As you are aware that the Bangladesh Marine Academy Ex Cadets Association has been formed by the name “ALUMNI OF BANGLADESH MARINE ACADEMY” (ABMA) subsequent to the decision in the last Golden Jubilee.
Pls find attached the draft resolution # 1 related to the formation of the Committee & other relevant matters .
You will be advised of the formation & establishment by the Society’s Act as soon as it is ready in order to promote membership drive .
All the proposed absent members, home & abroad, were communicated, & they all agreed likewise .

(RESOLUTION NO.1)
A meeting of the proposed members of the Marine Academy Ex Cadets Association (Adhoc committee formed during the Golden Jubilee) was held on 24 August 2013 at Sarina Hotel, Banani, Dhaka, at 1230 hrs .
The members present were as follows (the signed sheet attached) :

4. Capt Intikhab A. Chowdhury
5. Capt Ghulam Hussain
6. Capt Saydur Rahman

The meeting was presided by the then conveyor Capt Saifur Rahman . Towards the formation of the Bangladesh Marine Academy EX Cadets association, the following matters were discussed & resolved as follows :
1. Naming the Association : Upon detailed discussion on several proposals, the name for the Bangladesh Marine Academy EX Cadets association unanimously agreed as ALUMNI OF BANGLADESH MARINE ACADEMY (ABMA) .
2. Registration & Registered Office : It is decided that ALUMNI OF BANGLADESH MARINE ACADEMY (ABMA) shall be registered with Society’s Act in Bangladesh & the registered office shall be Capt Saifur’s office (41/1, kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Zeenat Bhaban, kawran Bazaar, Dhaka–1215), for the time being . The MOA & AOA, shall be drafted as per the resolution & as per the norms of the Society’s Act & the Country .
3. Committee & the Organogram : The Organizing committee shall consist of as follows :
Chief Patron – Mr Abdul Awal Mintu .
Panel Of Advisors – Capt M. Zakaria, Capt Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Capt Jalil, Engr C. F. Zaman, Capt M. Habibur Rahman, Engr Sajid Hossain .
President – Capt Saifur Rahman .
Vice-President – Capt Intikhab A. Chowdhury & Engr. Meherul Karim
Gen. Secretary – Capt M. A. Malek .
Asst. Gen. Secretary – Engr. A. K. M. Masud Karim .
Treasurer – Engr A. M. Fazle Rashid .
EC Members – Capt Anam Chowdhury, Capt Ghulam Hussain, Capt Saydur Rahman, Engr Sakhawat Hossain, Engr. Md Golam Sarwar, Engr Harunor Rashid, Capt Feroz Mostafa, Engr Faisal Al Asaduzzaman, Engr. Rafius Saleh, Engr Aby Sayed.
Overseas Members – Engr Delwar Ali (Australia), Capt Abid (Canada), Capt Hasan kuddus (USA), Engr Habibullah chowdhry (UK Continent), Engr Abdul Baten (Singapore /Far East), Engr Rashed Kazmi (Pakistan, Iran) .
Chief Patron (1/2) & Panel of advisors (5/6), shall be selected by the Executive committee, as & when formed, from the respected Senior Ex cadets . The Executive Committee may co-opt any number of advisers & patrons, as deemed fit & appropriate .
4. EC Meetings & Get-together – There will be 2/3 EC meetings per year ; One EC meeting shall be in Dhaka in Summer followed by a get together & one in Chittagong in winter along with AGM followed by a get together, the other suitably placed in between . Min. 6 EC members shall be reqd. to fulfill the Chorum .
5. Signatory of the Accts : Accounts shall be opened in the name of the Association “ALUMNI OF BANGLADESH MARINE ACADEMY (ABMA)” with AB Bank, Agrabad Branch, Chittagong ; The signatory shall be one of the Vice president (Capt Intikhab for now), Gen. Secretary & the treasurer ; any two will operate the accounts .
6. Membership : Any body who has duly graduated/passed out from Bangladesh Marine Academy are entitled to be a member ; The entry fee shall be tk 3000/- (one time), the annual fee shall be tk 1000/- ; Life membership fee shall be tk 20,000/- (any one desiring to be life member shall be exempted from the entry fee) .
The membership drive has to be undertaken as soon as possible
7. Fund & accounts : The balance fund from the last Golden Jubilee after allowing for the current meeting expenses, tk 13,55,004/- (Taka thirteen lac fifty five thousand & four only), shall be transferred to the “ALUMNI OF BANGLADESH MARINE ACADEMY (ABMA)” accounts, once the same is opened & operable .
8. All other entries & bye-laws to be incorporated as per Society’s act & prevailing norms .
