Suhrawardi Sir (6th Batch) Visiting Singapore

Bangladeshi Mariners Gathering in Singapore with Suhrawardi Sir (6th Batch) on Monday 5th May 2014:

It was indeed our great pleasure having with Suhrawardi Sir’s accompany among our Singapore Mariners last Monday (5th May 2014) evening.
We all really loved & enjoyed all his valuable comments & suggestions.

He is presently residing in NJ, USA. He is President & CEO of NMCI Group, NMC Global Corporation.
He is very much engaged with lot of social activities/works and helping many around the Globe.

Among those:
1) Running a school in Bangladesh & visiting the school every 2-3 months, this project is one of many other business activities he has in Bangladesh.
He hopes that his children and the children of his friends can enjoy the fruits of the hard and dedicated work that went behind all of these.
Bangladesh needs more of these entrepreneurs rather than so called “RICH” people who spend money abroad and inject into the economy of the foreign nations.

Please browse through the website: www.tca.edu.bd to get an idea about the institution. You may also browse through: www.national-development.org which is a non-profit organization through which funds transfer from the United States to Bangladesh.

2) He is giving 30 scholarships to Cadets in Marine Academy.
3) He has personally helped in the establishment of the Bangladesh Maritime Museum which is housed inside the Marine Academy.
4) He is also involved in the alumni matters of the NY Maritime College. The Alumni association awarded him “The Alumni of the Year”.
5) In the United States, he is involved in the politics and lobby for the causes for Bangladesh. Right now he is working with the Senate foreign relations committee regarding the Rohingya issue. Over the years, he has become very close friends with many Senators and Congressmen including some powerful politicians in the United States.
6) He is also the founder of the JMAAA website (www.juldians.org).

On behalf of all our SMC brothers, those joined the gathering, as well as those could not join due to their job commitments, I express our heartfelt appreciation & sincerely look forward seeing him again in the near future.

With Kind Regards
Baten (18th Batch)
On behalf of SMC
