Shafiqur Rahman (24E) is crtitically ill: Lets support him & pray for his quick recovery
I am writing to inform the mariner’s community about the condition and present treatment of our beloved friend Shafiqur Rahman (24E). He became sick on board Banglar Shourabh in last June. First he was admitted to Metropolitan Hospital, Ctg and later transferred to Square hospital, Dhaka. He was under treatment there for more than one month and released. He was in his house at Bogra and after several weeks he became sick again. He was brought to Square hospital and brain tumor was detected.
As treatment was not available in Bangladesh, as per Doctor’s advice he was taken to Chennai in September. Doctors, after test there, found condition and position of the tumor was beyond operation. Option of radio/ other therapy was also cancelled. Doctors gave him 72 hours time. As Doctors did not allow him to return by flight, they had to take ambulance with two drivers for a continuous 48 hours journey to Benapole. Form there with another ambulance, they returned to Bogra on 29 September.
Now he is under going homeopathic treatment now. His documents were shown to Dr. Deen Mohammad at Dhaka. He is not in favor of operation. Now his documents will be shown to Singapore / Bangkok Doctors if there is any option of operation. For this huge amount of fund (may be 100K SGD) will be required. If there is any positive opinion from the doctors we shall initiate fund raising drive.
So far, some amount was given to vabi by the Singapore batch mates before going to India. More was ready if operation would be done in India. Shameem and Atiq did a lot to confirm and easy payment of all medical bills in Bangladesh by BSC. Arif Khan and all others are in constant touch with vabi all the time. Let all of us pray to Almighty Allah for his recovery.
