The legendary & country’s pioneer shipping personnel has breathed his last on 25 April 2019 at Dhaka.
Atlas began its operations back in 1966 as a shipping agency, being the pioneering carrier and first Ocean-Going Vessel (OGV) owner in the shipping industry of Bangladesh.

As the founder, he overlooks the activities of all Atlas ventures as a whole, while simultaneously providing leadership and guidance to the Board of Directors.
Sanaullah Chowdhury took extensive training abroad on shipping in Bremen, Hamburg, Antwerp and Rotterdam, before eventually floating his own shipping business in 1966.
Best known as the pioneer of international shipping and trade in Bangladesh, he was also the first owner of first Bangladeshi Ocean-Going Vessel (OGV).
Mrs. Umme Salma Chowdhury wife of Sanaullah Chowdhury has join during the formation of the company as a working partner. She was in charge of financial part where has contributed vastly toward growth of the company.
A benevolent patron as well, Sanaullah Chowdhury regularly engages in social and community services, and is a regular donor for many orphanages, underprivileged educational institutes and schools.
