It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved friend, Shaharul Haque Joy (28E). Shaharul breathed his last on 9 November 2024 around 01:00 am BD time at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, leaving a void that will be felt by all who knew and loved them.
ইন্নালিল্লাহিওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন / Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (We belong to Allah and to Him shall we return).
He left behind a grieving wife and two young daughters. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Uttara Sector 4 Central Mosque and the remains of the deceased will be buried at Shohid Buddhijibi Koborsthan Ground, Mirpur 1 in Dhaka.
He had a minor heart attack and was admitted to the Evercare Hospital a couple days earlier.
Joy was a cherished member of our community, known for his kindness, sense of humour, friendly and open-hearted mentality. He has touched so many of our lives in meaningful ways, and his spirit and generosity will always be remembered. We always remember his laughter and generosity. In this difficult time, let us support one another as we grieve this tremendous loss.
We all from the BD Marine community including his friend and family members are devastated by his sudden departure, never expecting he would leave us so soon. We have no words to console his family members. May Allah give them enough strength to withstand this loss. Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Please pray for his departed soul.
As we grapple with this immense loss, let us come together to honour his memory and support his grieving family. This is an unimaginable tragedy for the BD Marine community, and for all who knew and loved him.
Shaharul’s departure is a reminder of the fragility of life and the enduring bond we share as a community. Let us hold his memory close to our hearts and strive to embody the qualities he so beautifully displayed in his lifetime.
