Late Mukhlesur Rahman passed away in Khulna on 12th June,2020. Inna lillahe wa inna elaihe rejeun.
Mukhlesur Rahman was one year junior to me at Marine Academy Chittagong. He was a nice and gentleman cadet. I remember, after our final examination, he was member of the team who were compiling the results. During this time, I met him by coincidence and he told me that I had obtained the highest marks in mathematics. He also told me my marks in other subjects. I was surprised at his intelligence and sharp memory.
It is interesting that after the Academy,I did not meet him despite the fact that I served with BSC and other private shipping companies in Bangladesh. However, I heard from other BD mariners that he was a religious person and extremely honest. His younger brother Captain Mustafizur Rahman (5N) had met me in Karachi when I was junior engineer on board M V Al-Murtaza in 1969.
May his soul rest in peace. Our sympathies are with all members of the bereaved family.
