We are deeply saddened to inform the members of the Bangladesh maritime community of the passing of Captain S. M. A. K. Mustafa, a distinguished mariner and senior alumnus of the Bangladesh Marine Academy (12th Batch).
Captain Mustafa passed away in the morning of 4 February 2026 at Popular Hospital, Dhanmondi, following a heart attack.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un
(Surely, we belong to Allah and surely to Him we shall return.)
Captain Mustafa was a respected member of the maritime fraternity, admired for his professionalism, lifelong dedication to seafaring, and warm association with fellow mariners. His demise is an irreparable loss to his family, friends, and the entire Bangladesh Marine Academy alumni community.
We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, especially his son Saad bin Mustafa (BMA 47th Batch). May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul eternal peace and Jannatul Firdous and give strength and patience to his loved ones to bear this profound loss.
The Janaza prayer will be held after Asr prayer at Bashundhara Residential Area, Block-D Mosque. All concerned are requested to attend and offer prayers for the departed soul.
বাংলাদেশ মার্চেন্ট মেরিন অফিসার্স এসোসিয়েশন মরহুমের মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করছে। মরহুমের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করা হচ্ছে এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি আন্তরিক সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করা হলো। এ শোকবার্তা জানানো হলো বাংলাদেশ মার্চেন্ট মেরিন অফিসার্স এসোসিয়েশন-এর সকল সদস্যবৃন্দ এবং দেশী ও বিদেশী জাহাজে কর্মরত বাংলাদেশী মার্চেন্ট মেরিন অফিসারদের পক্ষ থেকে।
