It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we inform the maritime community of the sad demise of our respected senior mariner, Captain Anisur Rahman (5N), who passed away on 4 January 2026 at approximately 11:00 PM at United Hospital, Dhaka.
“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un”
(Surely we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.)
Captain Anisur Rahman was a distinguished mariner and a revered senior among our fraternity. He was a resident of Gulshan, Dhaka, and an alumnus of the 1966 joining batch, a photograph of which is attached herewith for remembrance.
The burial will be held following the arrival of his daughter from the United States. Until then, his mortal remains are being kept at the hospital morgue.
We have lost not only an experienced seafarer but also a respected mentor whose life and service will remain an inspiration to generations of mariners.
May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant his departed soul eternal peace and a place in Jannatul Ferdous, and grant patience and strength to his bereaved family during this difficult time.
Let us remember him with gratitude and keep him and his family in our prayers.
