It is with deep regret and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Chief Engineer Monowar Hossain, Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chattogram – 44th Batch.
Mr. Hossain passed away on 14 January 2026 at 11:30 PM at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka, following complications arising from pneumonia.
“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un”
(Surely we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.)
Throughout his maritime career, Chief Engineer Monowar Hossain was known as a dedicated, disciplined, and responsible professional. His commitment to duty, strong work ethic, and technical competence earned him the respect of colleagues, seniors, and juniors alike—both ashore and onboard vessels operating nationally and internationally.
As a graduate of the Bangladesh Marine Academy, he upheld the values of professionalism, integrity, and leadership that define the Academy’s proud maritime tradition. Beyond his professional achievements, he was widely regarded as a humble, cooperative, and compassionate individual, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working and training alongside him.

His untimely demise is a significant loss to the Bangladeshi maritime community. He will be remembered not only for his service at sea but also for the camaraderie, dedication, and humanity he brought to the profession.
On behalf of the wider Bangladeshi maritime fraternity at home and abroad, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. We pray for the eternal peace and forgiveness of his departed soul. May Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous and provide strength, patience, and comfort to his bereaved family during this difficult time.
The Janazah (funeral prayer) will be held at his ancestral home in Sirajganj.
