Exciting News!”Judith Enaw and Sajid Hussain Recognised as Outstanding Alumni”

We are glad to share this great achievement – another feather in the cap of respected Sajid Hossain (15E).
He has been awarded as an ‘Outstanding Alumni’. The award has been handed over by the IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim in the WMU Graduation Ceremony of Class 2023 on 28 Oct 2023 at Malmo, Sweden.

We are pleased to announce that on 28 October 2023, two of our Alumni Judith Enaw and Sajid Hussain were recognised as outstanding Alumni during the graduation ceremony of the Class of 2023.

The Class of 2023 has received the education required to contribute to maritime and ocean issues in their home countries and more broadly to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The graduating class includes 283 graduates from 71 countries.

For the Award of Outstanding Alumna:
Judith Enaw of Cameroon graduated in 2000 and served as the Secretary General of the International Commission of the Congo-Oubangui-Sangha Basin (CICOS) from 2016 to 2023. Judith was the first female President of the WMU Student Council. She has demonstrated great professional distinction in the maritime field throughout her career and is always proud to be a WMU alumna.

For the Award of Outstanding Alumnus:
Sajid Hussain of Bangladesh graduated in 1998 and has been an active member of the Board of Governors since October 2013. He was Commandant of the Bangladesh Marine Academy and is the President of the Friends of WMU Bangladesh.
