BMCS Community Night 2018

Dear Fellow Bangladeshi Mariners,

Salam and Good Day.

Bangladeshi Mariners in Singapore celebrated the Grand Gala “BMCS Community Night 2018” on 3rd November and at the same occasion, our Biennial Magazine “NONGOR” was unveiled.

The event was graced by more than 400 guests and we were pleased to have the company of few guests from our global fraternity namely Capt. Nafiz Ahmed, who is currently living in USA; Capt. Shamsuddin Chowdhury & Capt. Salahuddin Chowdhury from Bangladesh, with their better halves.

The event was also graced by senior management of local shipping community ie. Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Ocean Tankers Pte Ltd, Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Pte Ltd, ADK Maritime Pte Ltd, New Ocean Ship Management Pte Ltd, Raffles Ship Management Pte Ltd, Steller Ship Management Pte Ltd, Leo Ocean Pte Ltd, Global Energy International Pte Ltd, Hong Lam Marine Pte Ltd, ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), LR (Lloyd’s Register), MSI Ship Management Pte Ltd, LUKOIL, Worldwide Ship Spares Pte Ltd and last but not least GMS (Global Marine Safety).

Earlier, BMCS approached to Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Government of the Republic of Singapore to grace this year Community Night as Guest of Honour. He told us that he would be out of Singapore for an overseas trip on the same day. You may now know that Honourable Minister is visiting Bangladesh and we are indeed delighted that Dr. Balakrishnan is being hosted by Bangladesh Government instead of Bangladeshi Marine Community in Singapore.

He was very kind to pen down to paper a few words for BMCS Community in “NONGOR”. May I take the privilege to attach his message herewith. Trust this would be very encouraging message for our entire community. Also attached herewith few photos of the event as a glimpse since we are yet to receive the full set.
