Immigration News for Mariners: UK, Australia,Canada..
It has been observed for the last few years , Bangladeshi prefered to migrate to the English speaking countries . Due to economic recession , most of the countries have closed their door for new immigrant. At present there are some countries who still welcome qualified immigrant.
Mariners can try the following countries for migration:
Australia
Recently Australian government included seafarers into skilled ocupation list. The COC holder of Singapore, UK, Aus , Malaysia, New Zealand are eligible for migration (Bangladeshi COC holder can verify with AMSA) . The immigration is a point based system . It will be easier for mariners if IELTS score is 7 in each band. So qualified mariners can try for migration. Please check the Australian government website for more details. http://www.immi.gov.au
UK
UK government has stopped the high skilled migration in December;2010 . But if anybody wants to study post graduation ( especially pure Engineering Subject) in UK universities and ready for any adverse situation then please come here for higher studies. Complete your Graduation/Post graduation in reputed universities and aply for Job within short post study visa period (50/50 chance to get job) and if you are qualified enough then Company may sponsor work permit visa. Canada
At present Mariners are not included in the occupation list comprises of 37 professions. But their qualified spouses (if the profession is short listed) can try for migration. New Zealand
Ya, we are listed in the Long term skill shortage list of NZ government. But requires 10 years experience and COC from UK, Singapore, Australia, NewZealand .
