Marine Engineer Rayaj Morshad has breathed his last on 13 Sept 2023

Rayaj Morshad Khan has breathed his last on 13 Sept 2023 while sailing onboard MSC CORDELIA III.

AMSA JRCC received a report from the MSC CORDELIA III stating the 2nd Engineer KHAN MD. RAYAJ MORSHAD (Bangladeshi Nationality), on 13-SEP-2023 at approximately 13:30 LT/05:30 UTC, had sustained a leg injury (below the knee) in the engine room with a lot of bleeding.
The company requested an immediate helicopter medevac (medical evacuation). TMAS conducted a consultation with the vessel and determined that the patient’s left foot was almost totally amputated (sub-total amputation) – an urgent medical evacuation was required. The patient expired prior to helicopter arrival.
