Success story of BD Mariners in Australia (Naweed Omar, 16E)

It is my proud privilege to announce another success story of Bangladeshi Mariners in Australia.

My fellow colleague in AMSA Naweed Omar 16E has received the Values in Action Award for end-year 2019. This is an award to recognise contributions and achievement of individual or teams across AMSA. The award is given twice a year, mid-year and end-year. This is the highest recognition for an AMSA employee who has makes positive contributions and demonstrated dedication in going above and beyond one’s everyday work to ensure ASMA delivers on its objectives. For those who may not know Chowdhury Sadaruddin 19E received the end-year award for 2017 followed by myself the mid-year award for 2018 and now Naweed the end-year award for 2019. This is an excellent feat for Bangladeshi Mariners in AMSA, a hat trick in three years in a row considering there are about 450 employees!

Naweed has always been considered a valuable member and asset for AMSA by his team and AMSA management for his exceptional skills and high work ethics. This award is just a recognition as he is much larger than the award!

We are proud of Naweed’s achievement as he has put another feather in the coveted cap of Bangladeshi Mariners.

Can I please ask you all to put your hands together to congratulate Naweed on his recognition and flying the Bangladeshi Mariners flag high in the global maritime arena!

Abdul Hannan (10E) was the pioneer. He received employee of the Year a long time ago….we are only following his footsteps. Those who don’t know Abdull Hannan bhai retired last year.

Best Regards, Qamruzzaman (11E), AMSA (Canberra).
