Capt. Shafayet Ahmed Khan is on his final voyage
Informing with heavy heart that one of our Senior Mariners of the country, Respected Capt. Shafayet Ahmed Khan has breathed his last in this early morning (8 April 2023) out of cardiac issues.

He was admitted to Evercare Hospital Ctg) last night with complaints of breathlessness and a pace-maker was implanted in his heart. The blood Oxygen content improved but he succumbed to a Cardiac arrest at 0300 hrs this morning (8 April).
He was about 82 years and approximately 2 years’ senior to our Academy’s 1st Batch (1962-64).
Needless to mention that he was a guardian-soul for all Bangladeshi Mariners throughout his long professional life. His better-half Mrs. Rehana bhabi is an Upala Enthusiast and is serving Asian Women University, Ctg.
He was Ex-Marine Superintendent & Ex-Technical Director of BSC and BMMOA Maritime Excellence Award winner 2023.
His home village is in Boro Uthan (beside our Academy).
